How do I clear sectional and overall cutoff for IBPS PO 2017- Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be conducting its 7th edition of CWE PO/ MT exam in the months of October and November. This exam is conducted for the assessment and recruitment of Eligible candidates for Probationary officers and Management Trainee posts in many notable banks. The IBPS PO exam is carried in three stages:

  • Preliminary exam
  • Main exam
  • Interview

The selection of the Candidate is based on the aggregate marks secured in the Mains exam and the Interview. The preliminary exam is only for the purpose of qualifying to be eligible to appear in the Mains exam of the IBPS PO Exam. A weightage ratio of 80:20 is considered for the final recruitment process i.e.…80% of the marks obtained in the Main Exam is taken and 20% of the marks secured in the Interview.

IBPS PO Exam pattern for Mains 2017

Some significant changes have been made in the Mains exam pattern this year which are as follows:

  • Computer awareness section has been removed and its place Computer Aptitude section has been added together with Reasoning Ability section.
  • Quantitative Aptitude section will now be calledData Interpretation &Analysis.
  • The total no. of questions in the exam hasbeen reduced to 155 from 200 last year similar to SBI exam.
  • The overall time of the objective exam has been increased to 180 minutes from 140mins last year.

IBPS PO Prelims 2017- Section wise tips

Tips for English Language:

English section carries 30 marks and 40 marks for the Preliminary and Main Paper , respectively. People who feel that this section is their weak area need to start from the    very basics right from the proper structure of sentences, basic grammar, tenses. You can read newspapers daily, study school level English for passage comprehension, story reading etc. to boost your preparation for this section. Take the help of a dictionary and learn 3-4 new words every day. Every time any word comes to your mind, note it down, figure out its meaning and also try framing sentences with it.
